“Be patient with yourself, nothing in nature blooms all year.” —Anonymous
Hello! My name is Heather Matzkowitz and I am a therapist at Cobb Psychotherapy LCSW. I am also known as a self-esteem enhancer, relationship coach, and personal guide through life’s transitions. I am here to support you in becoming the best version of yourself by leading you towards your innate capacity for growth and wholeness.
Feeling confident and content with yourself is one of the key elements of happiness. I am passionate about helping others feel positive about themselves so that they can lead their best life. I can assist you in discovering a greater sense of confidence, calmness, and overall sense of wellbeing.
Healthy relationships are an essential factor for an individual’s mental health. I provide support and guidance to help you build stronger, healthier relationships in your life. Whether it be familial relationships, friendships, or romantic partnerships, I will help you understand your patterns so that you can improve on communication, boundary setting, and overall navigation of those relationships.
Personal Guide Through Life Transitions
An inevitable part of life is change, and sometimes change can be very difficult. We are creatures of habit and when change occurs our equilibrium will often become unbalanced. I am here to help you navigate this change so that it is smoother and more manageable. I do this by giving you the support you need while providing practical tools for success.
How I Help
I believe that positive therapeutic outcomes begin with the interpersonal connection between the individual and their therapist. I strive to provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable expressing your thoughts and feelings. I use a collaborative and strengths-based approach, working with you to determine what will be the most beneficial to your success. Using a holistic framework, I integrate a variety of therapeutic modalities such as compassion-focused therapy, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness-based practices.
More About Me
In my free time I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and my dog. Yoga, meditation, captivating shows/movies, and spending time in nature are some of the ways I rejuvenate my mind, body, and soul.
