Crisis and change can be painful. We often throw ourselves into therapy when people, places, or situations fail us. Sometimes we are haunted by our own thoughts and negative beliefs. My work is to make sure you don’t feel alone in this process, to shine a light onto things you may not have noticed, and help shed what weighs you down so that you will be lighter by the end of our journey.

My work is driven by the belief that when we leave parts of ourselves unhealed, we become angry, isolated, and violent in our love towards ourselves and to others.

I was first introduced to psychology through watching and experiencing my parents who faced alienation, marginalization, and isolation for being deaf. I experienced the legacy of their unhealed wounds. I witnessed the amazing ability of the human capacity to stretch itself into something fiercer and bolder. I saw two people who were able to laugh and live while in total darkness. As a multiracial woman and daughter of deaf, immigrant parents, I’ve experienced what it’s like to wade through the struggle of exploring your identity, being seen and heard, and being someone who goes against the flow of expectations and external pressures.

I chased my desire to understand the human condition and received my BA in psychology from Columbia University and an MSW from Hunter College. I gravitated towards specialized training in couples and family therapy which I received at the Ackerman Institute for the Family. I also earned my certification as a life coach as a way to address the contemporary needs of those who want more action driven focus.

How I Help

I dedicate my work to people who have felt unseen, unheard, and unwanted. My work lets you know: I see you, I hear you, and you matter.

As a therapist, my areas of expertise are in couples and family therapy, individual therapy, identity (race, gender, ability, age, etc.), transitions/periods of change, relational trauma, and parenting. My therapeutic lens is informed by my focus on intergenerational messages and legacies, your identity and its relationship to the world around you, and your dreams for the future. As a certified life coach, my therapy practice is influenced by the perspective that having insight will get you closer to your goals, but you need action to take you the rest of the way.

More About Me

I’m a native Brooklynite, I’m an adamant believer that pineapple does not belong on pizza, and I have trained my two cats to act like dogs because I believe in the feline capacity to thrive in the face of so much negative PR.
