My name is Madeline Lucas and I am a licensed social worker and therapist at Cobb Psychotherapy. I am here to listen, support, and help guide you to becoming your truest self. I believe everyone deserves a space to reflect on and explore personal challenges in order to build an understanding of themselves and adopt the skills needed to live their best life. I look forward to working with you on this journey!

Who I Work With

I specialize in working with young people and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, boundaries, and more. To me, a positive therapeutic alliance is key. I emphasize a client-centered, collaborative approach to therapy, where we can work together to explore the challenges you are facing. I recognize and value the courage it takes to show up and be curious about your thoughts and feelings, and I intend to utilize my warm, non-judgmental approach to join you in this process of exploration and healing. What better time to start than now?

How I Help

I approach therapy by looking at a person holistically and incorporating a variety of evidence-based modalities. In exploring what prompts a client to seek therapy, along with an understanding of current patterns of thoughts and feelings, I am able to best tailor treatment to each unique individual. My approach incorporates techniques from CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), with components of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and mindfulness.

I believe that by developing insight into the story we tell ourselves based on our unique experiences, and recognizing how this impacts our thoughts, feelings, and actions, true change can and will take place. We can see these shifts in how we communicate with not only ourselves, but how we relate to our families, significant others, coworkers, and more. How can we together explore what is getting in the way, and identify solutions to help you be your most authentic self? That is my goal for you.

More About Me

My passions include spending time outside by the water, taking a Pilates class, reading psychological thrillers, or catching up on Netflix with my wonderful cat, Spencer Bean. I find it important to practice a meaningful balance between alone time and self-care, and spending time with friends and family who help fill my soul.
