Depression and Grief
Hi! My name is Melissa, but I go by Maxi. I am a licensed clinical social worker with 10 years of experience working in various settings with adolescents, adults, and families. I am excited about the opportunity to provide ongoing support and to empower clients to better manage life’s challenges.
What I Do
I specialize in working with adolescents and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, chronic illness, grief/loss, life transitions, and relationships. I take a client-centered, strengths-based approach to treatment. I believe in the power of establishing a strong rapport with clients, providing a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients can safely express their thoughts and feelings while working on self-identified goals for an improved quality of life. I will help clients gain deeper self-awareness in order to manage stressors, alleviate symptoms, and improve relationships, facilitating personal growth.
How I Help
I take an eclectic and collaborative approach to treatment, drawing on various evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, to best meet the individual needs of the client.
More About Me
I truly value connecting with people both in my work and my free time. I most enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling with my husband, hiking, and seeing Broadway shows.
