Our Mission and Values
At Cobb Psychotherapy the following values define our mission and how we approach therapy:
We believe that each person has a life purpose that will make them feel happy and content.
We believe in self-compassion and feeling without judgment. It’s okay if you’re not where you want to be yet. Your life is a work in progress!
We believe that you have the capability and strength to achieve your goals. But sometimes you may need a little help with asking the right questions and figuring out what that goal is.
We believe that therapy works best when the therapist and client collaborate to determine goals. We approach therapy from a person-centered, individualized approach. One size does not fit all. We want to be your partner in therapy, not the “expert.” You are the expert on your own life and emotions. We are lucky enough to be here on the journey to help you come up with the answers that are right for you.
We believe that change is possible when you discover what the underlying resistance is to achieving your goals and bring them to your conscious awareness. By confronting instead of avoiding, we can start building the life you want.
We believe that therapy doesn't have to last forever. We all have times in our lives when we need more support. We believe in helping people to feel more confident in themselves and eventually, that may mean moving on from our work together.
